Never seen that fantastic photo before. Erik uploaded this video a few years ago, and the Cig 35 appears in several parts of the footage. What a remarkable human being Bob Nordskog was!

P.S. Dan, wish You & Team Speedster All the best at the races. Cheers, Lars. D.S.

Does anyone know the current owner/whereabouts of Burn Baby Burn?

Interesting information re the 35 Cigarette Spirit......was sold to Rocky Aoki and became BENIHANA and raced by him.....was sold to Jerry Jacoby at Key West and became JJ’s Joint. I just spent the weekend with Jerry in Miami for the Miami Boat Show 2020 and he told me the story. It was damaged and was repaired by Bobby Saccenti at his shop in Miami.

Charlie, was that the Benihana you owned and sold a couple of years ago? What was the HIN on that hull? Did Aoki have more then one Benihana cig 35 hull? The Ajac Jerry raced i 78, he bought from Aoki. You could also read Benihana under the hatch on Jerrys 35. Or was it as simple as Aoki had bought the Anheuser Busch hull as spare and sold that hull to Jerry raced as Ajac Hawk. Many questions...:-)

New information to help clear up the foggy old men's minds.
Jerry Jacoby had a 28 foot Mirage pleasure boat.
He becomes interested in a offshore racing and decides that he wants a Cigarette.
Bobby Saccenti sets him up with a deal from Don of just a bare hull and deck,Mistress 35 foot.
Bobby then takes delivery of that boat at his shop..Race Headquarters and rigs the boat out as a pleasure boat with Flagship engines and stern-power drives.
With Jerry driving and Bobby throttling, they enter a local Miami OPBRA race and win it overall. Jerry named that boat JJ's Joint.
Jerry is now excited about offshore racing and he decides that he wants a all out race boat.
He meets with Rocky Aoki in Key west after the race and Rocky tells him that he was doing very well in the race, but he crashed and blew out a side of the boat.
Jerry offers to buy the boat in as is condition..... after talking it over with Bobby and deciding that it can be fixed and the boat will be stronger.
Rocky accepts the offer and the boat goes back to Race Headquarters and Bobby start to re-rig it.
The old Benihana is now painted White and is re-named AJAC HAWK. It is a 35 foot Cigarette that was previously raced as Spirit and BENIHANA.
That boat is raced in 1978 and Jerry qualifies for the World Championship to be held in Mar del Plata, Argentina in December 1978.
However, Jerry talks Don into blocking the 39 foot mold and making him a new 37.6 foot long race boat, that he can race with in Argentina in December of 78.
Jerry continues to race his 37.6 Cigarette race boat under the AJAC HAWK name for a few more years, but doesn't win a race until June of 1980, when he wins the Bahamas 200, beating some guy by the name of McCarthy by 30 seconds.
Than same boat was called AJAC HAWK, CIGARETTE HAWK and finally BRUT.
Jerry won the World Championship in 1982 with this 37.6
