Nigel: This apears to be a 35` Cig so to me it would cofirm that Peter did run a thirty five down under. The boat that he stretched was the 40` wide beam boat from what I can remember, I want to say Barry McMillan ran the boat when it broke in half. I still have the newspaper pictures and stories, pictures of the wet crew and what`s left of the boat on the beach in Melbourne. So the picture of the converted boat could very well be the boat you have pictured. The boat in the picture is for sure a 35` see the knuckle on the hull sides. Wonder what ever happened to the 35` Powerboat special of Nordskog?????????????? If some of the veteran Calif. guys would contribute we could have some good stuff comming forward, they were big part of offshore also. 7XCHAMP

7xchamp,

Any chance you could scan those articles of the broken boat and the crew etc? Would be a great read.

I live on the marina in St Kilda were the boats were all launched.

I read on this forum once that Nordskogs 35 was spotted in the bahamas with outoards on it ferrying people from island to island.

If that is true sad end for it.

I just had a call from one of the offshore guys named Antony De Fina, he spoke to an Australian guy called Tony Lowe who use to build Cigarettes under licence here. Tony said it is not slingshot, but one that he built. It was a raceboat in the late 70's.

Which one are you referring to, the flatdeck or the "stepped" one?

Richie I agree totally that the knuckle on the side of the hull makes it appear like a 35. The only problem I have is that the distance from the screen to the bow seems way longer than a normal 35 - perhaps it's the angle of the photograph that just makes it look much longer than a 35 in my mind.
