Rabco Boats
Anybody have any info on them. Randy Rabe was the builder I hear. A cigarette splash with outboards. 28 and 35 footers ?
|
I don't know the 35', but the 28' is the original 28' Magnum, designed and built by Harry Schoell for Aronow. It later was lowered to be the 27' and 28' Magnums, and then massaged into the 28' Cigarette. Aronow sold the mold to Mr. K., who gave it to Mabry Edwards, who sold it to Randy. Great boat. Aronow won a couple of Worlds in one.

send me a pm and I will give details & connection to Randy's son, if appropriate, look at the current Pantera boats and ask them

Friend in St. Pete had a 35 center console with twins on the back. He used it for charter fishing...this was maybe 8 years ago.
There is also a yellow CC that looks to be about 21' and is sitting on a boat lot near Thunder Marine in St. Pete for sale. |
I recall a 35' Rabco near Nanuet, New York.
Sitting outside of a gas station on rte. 303 I Believe. Had Race hatches with Scoops on top. With a pleasure interior, cool looking boat. |

I met Randy and looked at a 28 back in the late 80's. In addition to several smaller models, at the time I believe he was building/selling a 28 and 35 footer in either center console or closed deck and also a 41 footer with closed deck.
He had a used 35' in his showroom that had 4 Mercs on it. It was Bronze or Brown metalflake with flag graphics down the side if I remember correctly. He also showed me a 35 CC that had 3 Second Effort V8 outboards on it. It would be nice if some current owners of Rabcos from Randy era would post up some pics and details. |

I visited the Rabco factory on the west coast of FL back in 1975. I was only 15 years old and my neighbor was having a 28?? layed up as a center console. He was an airline pilot who was big on fishing. He brought the hull back to Coral Gables and rigged the boat himself.
