In that first pic that shows Betty and John heading west from Key West, guess who they were heading for.. The far checkboat at Middle Ground had sunk, and they forced me (against my will) to take the new BPM V12 powered 37' Magnum out there. God it was rough! We trashed the Magnum. When we arrived on station, we were too far out to call back by VHF radio, so we relayed with a Coast Guard 210'. When Danny Durrough threw the hook, it pulled the Magnum in to the windshield. He cut the rope and we backed and filled until the fleet went by. We beat some of them back to Key West.
