How to get Cigarette 28 history..?

3 Attachment(s)
Hi Guys,

I have a lead on a 28 footCigarette of 1983 vintage. The owner got it as project, and it's in essence a bare hull on a trailer. The current owner does not know anything about boats, and want to get rid of it.

I have 2 extra engines, and an extra drive, and I figured it may be an interesting race boat, or test mule for some of my engine ideas etc.. If it turns out the boat had any race history, then I would also be interested in restoring it to original glory. If not, then it might be good as a second boat anyway.

I have the hull#, and here's a picture. Can anyone tell me how I can get more info on this boat...?

All help appreciated..

Thanks,

Richard

Certainly doesn't look like a 28 deck and after seeing that HIN# I don't think its a CIG

I think the owner got the registration # mixed up with the hull ID#.. I'll ask again.. In CA I know the reg #'s start with CF.. Does the hull look like a flat deck from the pic? Does anyone know how any 28 fott models Cig built in 1983..?

Thanks,

R

Nope not flat deck, the deck as well as fairing and transom all look wrong. The pics are horrible though ...

Thanks, I am trying to get more info from the seller, and as the guy knows nothing about boats, it is difficult at best.. I am supposed to go see it in a week.. What does CIG start their hul ID#'s with.. For example, my Formula starts with TF..

Thanks,

R
