Thank you Brownie. Do you know if it was a custom built racer or one of C&Bs pleasure models used for racing as f. ex. their Nitro?
Does anyone know what happend to all the molds of C&B? They had some very nice models before they went bust. The mighty 50' Nitro was later built by Off Course and their 30' Shogun by Beluglass but what happend to the rest?

No, the builder was the E.RI.A. Marine of Fenegro' near Como.
It was a prototype in composite of 39' designed and built by Riccardo Mambretti owner of Esperimenti(Experiments) RIcerche(Researches) Applicazioni(Applications) Marines.
It was driven by Giulio De Angelis in some races of the 1975 Italian season before the Roman driver abandoned it because too weight ,preferring the old Cig. 36' of Balestrieri.
Cigala & Bertinetti came a few years later in the offshore competitions.

Thank you BT. Are you sure it was built in composite and do you have pictures of other models of E.RI.A.?
Regarding C&B, do you know what happend to their beautiful boats when they met their demise?

That 39' was built with various wood types and a final layer of gel coat.
More exactly it was a construction in playwood stratified with polyester resins strengthened with fiberglass.
After a last competition in 1976 it was sold and used as pleasure boat repainted in white.
In the first years nineties was cut in two sections and demolished. I still preserve a painted wood piece of beam.
The boats of E.RI.A. Marine had a victorious history in the European and Italian Class 2 in the first half of the seventies. The most important boat was the UFO-Tibidabo of the brothers Pesenti that was a 27' powered with a single Alfa Romeo (Montreal)it dominated the class 2 of 1973 -75.
In class 1 the Eraf stayed the only built sample.
I will put some images in the next days.
For the C&Bs that were not of Genoa but of Turin it is difficult to tell you if they still exist in life exemplary or moulds. The yard has already been disappearing for many years and I doesn't know who has been able to buy the sheds and moulds.

So are the moulds still in the factory?

It's possible.

About "composite" I'm refferring to a construction using different material, like wood with fiberglass in this case.
Usually we speak about composite for a mixture of fiberglass with kevlar or others sintethic components.
