Have 5 project boats 20 formula,$4,000... 25 Mag. sport...28 Maltese $12,000, 28 Maltese race boat $65,000...and the 29-9Magnum the predecessor to the 34 and other builds from Aronow $15,000.Closing shop need to sell. Bud

no cigarette.....i feel the same way i thought people would be all over this thread. there are thousands of powerboat projects in shipyards around the country and most of those boats can be had for very very little money if you can find a lead and get somebody who just says take the thing off my hands........

That boat is in great shape with all new rigging and vinyl.

I hope 1 day I can have the patience and $$ to buy a project boat and build it to MY specs/ideas.

I completely envy you guys that are able to do this. For now...I have to stick to my 22' Scarab (all original), but hey...it keeps me on the water.

My dream boat (if I ever have the funds) would be a 27-28' flat-deck with a single big block engine pushing 600+ horsepower or w/ twin small blocks.

Nocig just got rid of your dream boat.

I know - and mr. vinyl has another one that'd be a perfect candidate (I think).

But it's a bad time to sell my Scarab...and I can't scrape up the $$ it takes to even get started by buying the initial project. Which (IMO) means I have no business taking on a project like this at this time.

Hopefully...in the next 3-5 years I will find "the one" for me and the timing will work out financially. I'm young still (30)...so I've got PLENTY of time to enjoy the boat I have now and keep on dreaming til I have the $$.

Did you notice how old this thread is? If your trying to sell your boat the classifieds or the swap shop forum work great. Pics are always wanted but you can email them to interested people if you don't want to upgrade your membership here. This is a great site, you'll be glad you came here, very helpful friendly folks.

How about a 1982 Cigarette Mistress 35ft.. It's not really a project boat, but there are always thing you want to do to your new toys. It's in great shape, good paint, new transom, new instruments panel. I have a set of 502 MPI to install in it. They are still in my Top Gun. Bought a Top Gun last year. Time for the Mistress to go. You can hear the engines run. Aluminun triple axle trailer. I pull the engines you install. 25,000. Have pictures on request.

How bout a 28 foot bertram baron, I have got one sitting in my backyard.

Whats A bertram Baron look like ? does it resemble the old KAMMA boat ?

Had twin small-block Fords and Volvo 250s. A whole lot of beer cans emptied during those 4 or 5 years........Bill S

I have got a 28 foot Bertram Baron that has been under cover since 1990. It has two LT-1 chevrolet 350's with volvo outdrives. Originally it had Holman Moody engines in it. The boat was purchased here in massachusetts in the 70's by my uncle who used to race boats back then. The boat in running shape goes about 72 mph. No faster since it begans to chine walk. The boat is red with white deck and was raced in the sports class in the 70's. The boat is in need of an overhaul which I have never gotten too. I just looked at this forum and saw the photo of P-1 Needlenose. That is what it looks like, they are a beautiful boat, hard to find. Mine raced under the name "Hustler", I also had a friend whom raced in the production class like "needlenose", that boat was also up here in Beverly Ma., it went by the name "six gun". I have not seen any other boats in the area.

So how much $$$ do you want for the Bertram Baron ?
