no cigarette.....i feel the same way i thought people would be all over this thread. there are thousands of powerboat projects in shipyards around the country and most of those boats can be had for very very little money if you can find a lead and get somebody who just says take the thing off my hands........

StormRider,
To Funny ! I'm up in NewPort, Rhode Island staying on Goat Island. I don't think I'm making it to Sands Point. Blaming a "Shiksa" on a detour :-). But I hope to see you in January in Florida. Had seen a 38' Flat Deck in Mystic in pretty sad shape. And no other sighting's yet. Phone works sporadically, tex is better. I'll keep you posted, speak with you soon. Crash-Box [email protected] Thanks for any info ! |

I hope 1 day I can have the patience and $$ to buy a project boat and build it to MY specs/ideas.
I completely envy you guys that are able to do this. For now...I have to stick to my 22' Scarab (all original), but hey...it keeps me on the water. My dream boat (if I ever have the funds) would be a 27-28' flat-deck with a single big block engine pushing 600+ horsepower or w/ twin small blocks. |

I know - and mr. vinyl has another one that'd be a perfect candidate (I think).
But it's a bad time to sell my Scarab...and I can't scrape up the $$ it takes to even get started by buying the initial project. Which (IMO) means I have no business taking on a project like this at this time. Hopefully...in the next 3-5 years I will find "the one" for me and the timing will work out financially. I'm young still (30)...so I've got PLENTY of time to enjoy the boat I have now and keep on dreaming til I have the $$. |
