3 Attachment(s)
Tried this before, but maybe some old ones have been unearthed recently.
Here are some shots from the Catalina ski race, maybe som e West coast guys have a lead on something. |
That apache is owned by Mr haggan now and was re-rigged at scorpion racing in mich.....I think the old ohio steel boat is still for sale somewhere in ohio...Hope this helps charlie....

The 35 Cig. in the above photos is one of Tom Gentry's old Race boats. The boat is now owned by Dunsmore Custom Marine in NV. I know the boat is complete and in original race trim with gentry turbo motors on #3 drives. I believe the boat is still for sale.

Charlie,
The last time I spoke with them they wanted 55K or 60K. I will try and find some photos they sent me. How is the restoration coming on the Spirit/Bennihanna? |

Benihana......Hopefully painted by the end of January. The engines are at Innovation Marine. I asked them to build some detuned engines that still have the old look, but can run...first for more than a few hours at a time (like the old days) and second, on regular pump gas. With the improvements in engines over the last 30 years, the HP probably won't be down that much, but the reliability will be way up. |

Speaking of Cigarettes, attached are the last picts I've ever seen of Ajac Hawk / Super Brut (17) ~ '85. Old school Everglades poker run. Anyone have any idea where she's at? Last rumor control had it hacked-up & languishing in the Bahamas? No disrespect to Mr. Jacoby, but that blonde bikini holder in the driver's hole isn't an all-bad replacement! |
Ainīt Ajac Hawk nowadays Panama Hawk and yes in Panama?

No, Ajac Hawk and Panama Hawk where two different Boats. When I worked at Trick Paint in Miami we Painted the Ajac Hawk Boat Black and Put the name "Terminator" on the sides. as for the Panama Hawk boat I remember Ron Dollar kept it in his shop, Maintaining it for the Panamanians that owned it. I went and tested it with Him (& Them) and they where bichin cause Richie Powers had it going over 90mph Then Hawk rebuilt the motors and it only ran 85. They raced it one more time then must have taken it to panama. |

Trick Paint was in the same building as "Target Trailers", The owner of Trick Paint was the Brother of the owner of target trailers (the Rossi Family). Now for Benny...Benny was my hero, He got to paint allot of KickAzz boats Like Fayva, CatMan and some others I forgot. He wasn't cheap, but he was friggin good. I Painted for Cougar so I Got to paint Most of them, I also worked for trick and I got to paint most Midnight Express's and at trick also got allot of Race Boats from all manufacturers. We also painted the Dollar Marine special (with the unraveling ribbon on the side) and Both Miami Vice Scarabs. The good ol days.

the first one is Smakys on the board and it has had turquise gunnels from day one. That black gunnel version was the later paint scheme so youīve musta been building the later ones ?
Which one had greetings to DJ written on the plywoods under the laminate inside the cabin ..do you remember cause Iīve seen them personally. The one with black gunnels had a totally silver arch and the last version had only dark sides on the arch not the 13 color fade. If you can find the colours for the fade and paint schedule or whatever please do post or mail. |

Attached are photos of a 1973 29-9,one of five that where built by Don Aronow .Were were going to sell it, however changed our mind and it is going down to Roger Munn in Naples Fl.12/26 for an engine rebuild and a total restore by Jeff Haylet and myself.Plan on having it ready in 2009,all depends how long the funds hold out.
This 29-9 started as Thumper Two,driven by Jim Armington from 1973-1976 and then became the Head Hunter driven by Vaughn Szaraka in 2007.Boat was out of Ohio and I am sure a few of you have seen it over the years. It was sold in 1980and went to the west coast and ran for about two years and then was in for a re due however sat until 2008 when we found it...28 years later. Any one who might remember this boat an or have pictures of it would be greatly appreciated.Have receive a lot of info fro H2O out of Michigan so far however still looking for top shot of the cockpit and engine bay. |
