I really didn't have much to do with the Chris Cat's. That was George Linder's gig after we left Shadow at the same time that I was starting up Conquest. We did build Chris Craft a prototype 37 footer and they paid to plaster their name all over the 35' Jesse James, in fear of losing their #1 team. Therefore, I knew the Jesse James CC intimately because of the Lavins, and some other friends of mine also had them. Since they were a derivative of the Shadow Cat and I had walked away from that, I really didn't get heavily involved, other than my video commentary as NNRT covered them.

That having been said, the ACR Spirit was owned by Lance Ruble, and was one of the better outboard Chris Cats of the time, 1984-85. He had been very successful with a single engine I/O Manta Hull prior to that.

I remember the ACR Spirit from Key West backin the day. My Dad raced against them. We also had a I/O Chris Cat as a pleasure boat.

No, welfare bought the outboard ACR boat. I bought mine in July 2007, it is an orginal 84 Chris cat- radar arch and all with merc 400's and SSM2's.
