Wannabe |
The boat is in marco right now but ill most likely be hauling it up to New jersey this up coming monday to finish working on it . i worked on it all day today and man does this thing need TLC. im pulling it north because i just want to get it done ASAP and i wont be in FL much during the summer. Maybe it will be done before the hudson river poker run on june 20th.
Hopefully i will get on the water this friday. Which seems very possible. |
I think that you have made a good thing. I had sent you some days ago an e-mail with the photos of the Powerboat Magazine Special but I don't know if you have received it. i did get your email. i do appreciate you sending those pics and the info my way. i really dont have any other pics of the boat from its old racing days so the ones u sent are great. i will try to send you some pics of the boat when its all cleaned up and touched up. chris |
I was looking at that thing pretty hard also. I was just worried about it actually running. That thing is very unique and needs a great home so that it can be preserved. If I had the extra cash, I would just clean it up and lock it away until somebody opens a museum.
Good luck with it and congrats. |
jeff,
thanks alot. engines actually crank right up without a problem. just going to change the lines and make sure they are all good so i dont run into any problems in the future. i still haven't gotten it out on the water so im keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best. hopefully video and pics to come soon. chris |

Beautiful boat. I bet I have at least a few old Powerboat Mags with stories on her in my attic. I even remember when Powerboat Mag had it for sale sometime in the 90's I think.

hollowpoint,
If you have any articles regarding this boat please let me know. You can PM me so i can give u my email address. im trying to dig up as much as i can about her. i know it was on the cover of oct 1988 powerboat mag. they actually had it for sale in the magazine? do you remember what they were asking? |
congrats Fever, you said you were going to haul her up to NJ, where in NJ and where are you mainly going to run her.
i have a 1980 39' cigarette myself |
magcig,
well im basically living in cedar grove. im not really sure where im going to run her yet because i dont know of any great boating spots. i figured i could run her around sandy hook since thats probably the closest or the hudson. If i get her all done and tested im going to try to make the hudson poker run in june 20th. its suppose to be a big turn out and a great experience. Is you cig rigged for just three people as well? Any photos? if so PM me and ill give you my email. Have you taken yours out this season? |
