Newbe wellcraft nova guy!
 

I am thinking of buying a 1984-1989 nova II, and I am curious about fuel cosumption on these boats. How is the 7.4 twin vers 5.7 twin, as I see some of the 88-89 wellcraft novas came with big blocks. How do they sit in the water with the extra weight?

How is the fuel cosumption between the two engine combinations? Example a day out on the lake, just cruising, with the exception of the odd flat out run.
What type of fuel do they run on, lead or unleaded?
What is the beter of those years?

There are several Nova's on miami craiglist you should look at.

Leaded fuel? WOW! Where would you even get such a thing? Good heavy boats. 80's, make sure you really check out the wood. I would consider having anything your interested in Survey'd. For the few hundred bucks you might save yourself thousands in hidden damage, rot. Fuel consumption is relative to how you are on the throttles. Big blocks use more than small blocks but there is no comparison on the power, TORQUE! If your new to power boating and you don't have bottemless pockets, I would suggest a smaller boat say 27' single engine and the newer the better. If more $ is available go 30' twin engine and stay with BBC's Bravo or TRS drives, mainly Bravos.

I picked up an 87 Nova III this year with twin 350's and we love it. It's been a great first boat and gets into the low 60's.

Its amazing how big of wave that thing will crash through. Fuel consumption isn't bad. 200 bucks will get you around all weekend.
