We used to build the boats in the mid eighties. In the mid 90's I took the molds back and sold them to a group in Texas. The boat was originally the 24 Carerra built by Humberto Picon. The molds were bought from him by Seahawk partner Armando Rivera(Cuban Jewlers). Armando traded the molds to us for a finished 24 OB with old school stainless armstrong brackets and 225 Evinrudes. Armando ended up being a silent partner with Ralphy Barca in the Avance effort. Avance copied one of our 32' Scorpions, calling it a 33.
This hull is almost identical to the P and D/ superboat/ Excalibur, etc..etc... T |

Do you know where there are any? I had a 1988 model w/454 trs and dry gils. Very tough boat and took rough water very well. Handling on mine wasn't that great. I think my drive was mounted higher than others I've seen and had a left handed Mirage. I would love to get my hands on another though.

"Franks Marine" Raced a 24' in Offshore "A" Class with a 468 and a Bravo1, I'd guess they had a 2" high X dim, That was one of the Best "A" Class boats in the country. I think it still races in Puarto Rico. One Bad MOFO thats for sure.... |

Carrera molds? How many boats used that mold? I would love to find those molds. No idea what I would do with them, but would be cool to have.

We ran a 26 Corsa 92 MPH with a N/A 510 ci, we could have went faster with more motor but the boat was at the end of it's speed limit. since these boats have no pad and are true V Hulls the limit of the hull comes at lower speeds. I think your 700+hp motor and Bravo drive will go 100mph, but in this boat high 80's-Low 90's is all you can get. You may have some throttle left. and you be buying a bravo every other month... |

well thats the motor and drive in my boat now with a high x dim.prop shaft 2 1/2 below boat runs mid to high 90s no prob. im lookin at this scorpion to put all my stuff in. I will set the prop shaft 2 1/2 below bottom. thats what im thinkin. the drive is an xr and ive have no issues knock on wood. also 3 lbs of boost thats it. The guy who has the boat had a 509 and ran very well 82mph. he had to really drive it until he put dual ram steering that straightened it right out plus he had a trs deep.

A couple of years ago there were several Scorpion molds down in Miami 147th street & 27 th Ave. Just around the corner from Concept. I was called in to look at rigging a brand new Scorpion 36 that had just come out of the mold. In the time it took me to prepare an estimate, the doors were closed. I checked in several more times over the next few weeks but no activity. Sea Hawk were building 28 foot CC's a couple of doors down and they shut down soon after. Another boat builder was next door to sea hawk building a funky looking wide beam CC. They sunk a fortune into developing this boat and making mold after mold. They were done in about six months.
