My understanding is the buyer has a home in ft lauderdale and a small collection of Bertram's....I assume he is just going to pleasure ride it with a poker run here and there?

I would and just fly over. |
Saw the boat on the river during Riverfest. Very cool boat.
I sure hope it doesn't just disappear off the face of the boating world..............maybe the new owner passes by this site and can inform us of plans??..............
------Toprop,,,You and I have talked a bit as I admired the Bertram. Im the guy with the old navy DONZI El Pescador center console. I will miss your Bertram a bunch. I got so much pleasure just looking at it. Absolutely one of my all time favorites. Anything else up your sleeve???............Mr.Bill
If then they(the arabs) will decide to draw a mold from it I hope that they are not so awkward as the Brazilians that tried to do the same with the Pangare Gringo of Wallace Franz and that they destroyed it instead.

Where did you advertise it? Or did a broker sell it?

Good to hear that we will possibly still see it around Ft Lauderdale. What did it sell for ?

Where did this boat end up? How many of these were built? |

Where did this boat end up? How many of these were built? They were basically built for race teams. Sold bare hull only back in the early to mid 70's. Look up Copper kettle, Needle Nose, Natual Light all ran these boats. It was the hayday of the Vhulls = Cats were few.....Cigarettes Scarabs and Bertrams were the mainstays..... |
Don Onken ran a 38 as well (Mr. Goodwrench) back in the '90's. My dad did some fiberglass repairs to the boat back in the day.
A design that stuck out in the crowd of cool classic race boats.
My buddy
My buddy has the Copper Kettle for sale. Was on classified s a little while ago..
Hey Cary, how are things with you lately.
You still running a boat. B38 still running hardcore. |
Hey Kurt , yes I am still running my Cary 29.9. Went back to outboards after the surface drives. Long story. How are you doing....
Boat went to Kuwait to a collector is what I was told. He bought it like you and I would buy a stick of chewing gum off eBay

No survey no sea trail no one even came to see it. I guess when you have a lot of $ everything is relative. |
Beautiful

Kuwait
