Go to nmxtreme.com and also donzi registry for more info. I have never seen a good summary of the history but lots of arguments, bickering and rumor. Seems they were maybe built between buidings on or near thunderboat row and one add supposedly has Don A doing the driving. I have a 71 and a 73, both works in progress. I know of at least 3 others for sure besides my two, guys on NMX.

Designed and built by Buddy Smith. Owned by Kenny Elkind. Ken was the kid who owned the jet boat that Aronow crashed.

Hey thanks, I was tiring to see if my boat had classic value because I'm about to rip out all the Volvo stuff out for Merc. I was told that the Monza name has been used 3 times for a boat co. know anything about that?

I spent a few years in one, if it's the same hull. I thought mine was listed as a 20'er. It was a 73 with no windshield, Looked kinda like a donzi minx. I ran a 468ci/470hp chevy, with the original volvo drive (270?) with outboard trim pistons on a custom bracket to trim the normally untrimmable drive, a custom 3 blade 28" Mach prop and ran 76 mph at 5,600rpm - on loran in the early-mid 90's. That hull loves to ride up on that flat 3 or 4" wide keel pad when you get into the 70's - it would stand up like a bass boat if you wanted - don't remember any chine walk issues. I had trim tabs and would highly suggest them. I had also looked at another one, a 71 I think, that still had the original Holman Moody 351 ford in it back then too - it was all original, tall windshield etc. Hull has alot of bow flare, and strakes that runstraight forward instead following the keel. Interior has a full inner liner as I remember, and a VERY solid hull. I scared the h*ll out of people with it, and ran it hard.

Sorry, my scanner is broken, so I can't yet post a pic .......

I have seen 79 24'er based on the 24 excalibur - I assumed it was the same co.

Mine has the 351 and volvo drive still and no windshield. I herd that Monza and Donzi were made in the same warehouse back then know anything about that?

Here is something a little weird.
2 of the boats I own now were owned by people that posted in this thread.
