There are a couple old classics under cover in back and on the side of Dykes place on sunnyside. One of them looks like it could be the old Popeyes cigarette visconci bought back in the day after satullo bought his 36 cigarette.

We are sure that it is really the former Copper Kettle?

Marco ,not sure of anything right now ....The guy up in Canada says he purchased the boat down in Florida and has had it a long time.. Sounds about the right time frame when Marshall Ives sold it..Talked to the guy and he said the boat is Kevlar,I think Satullo had the first bertram made of Kevlar --- not really sure!!! any way I found the other one that is Red in color and had some funny looking "Eyes" painted on each side of the bow and what appeared to be white flames also near the bow...I guess there were only seven or eight hulls made back then and I managed to find the location of three in the last few weeks... One down in Jacksonville fl. ,One in Canada, and One four miles from my own house.....
I will try to get some pics. of the red one and post them. Jim |
Cig,
You are right-Copper Kettle was the first Bertram made of "Kevlar 49" (as they use to call it). I think I've got an article from an old magazine on this boat-I'll try and find it. Bob |
