Was looking around on craigs today and found a 1989 predator. I have never heard of them or any thing about them but the boat looks nice. Just wondering if I could get a little info from anybody.

I believe that this boat was manufacturered in Michigan by a friend named Bob metzler who owned Predator Boat Co. during this time period. If my memory serves me correctly, he repopped both the 24' and 31' Excalibur hulls and were subsequently marketed under the Predator name. Had several raceboats running in the late 1980's. The recession in the 1990's put them out of business.

It's really a Jim Clem boat by many names, Lancer, Aero, Predator, and later Awesome. Jim sold the company to Bob but in time got it back. Here is a few pic's of one of his race hulls

those pics you posted are of a 27x8 boat with a flat transom the original top pic is a 24x7 with curved transom..
Definately some sort of Excalibur/Carrera/Pantera/etc 24x7 splash

I know a 24' from a 27', I bought the very first offshore 24' Jim sold, this yellow Cheetah the year 1974.. It was a exact copy of the 24' Excalibur.. Jim also sold it under the Panther name, later he changed the deck mold to look more like a Pantera. The pic I posted was one of Jims best Predator race boats, the 27' Magnum copy. The Predator line of boats included a 24', 27' 28' & 31' they were all Vee hulls, there even was a 30' Shadow cat copy that later became one of the Awesome line of boats.
