I think you wre 7 or 8 when I headquartered at Groves & Gutterridge, great times back then, and to have won CTC three times out of five atempts is like winning Indy or Lemans that many times. Thanks for the pix, my old 35 cig. dry Martini looks good, would have liked to grab the sticks for the race.

Hi Richie,

I am concerned to hear that a professional man like you is in difficulty for your work.
Is worrying that this cursed bastard crisis hits even the bests.
I'm sure you will find work soon.

Marco

Richie,

Like Nigel and Marco, I am really sorry to hear about your current problems. I just hope that things will improve soon and I wish that I could be able to help.
Even if you were not able to "grab the sticks" of Dry Martini, the thing is that, for us Offshore fans, you are forever linked with that boat. When it raced last week, the first picture that came to mind was a flashback to the Bonomi / Powers highly succesful combination.
Like Nigel said, the presence of Uno Embassy added to a warm feeling of being transported back in time. I am very pleased that some people have taken great care to restore these boats and race them as they were intended, but I am so pleased that I was lucky to see them race all these years ago.

All the best Richie.

Phil.

Marco, the colour settings on my camera were not right - there is too much colour! I need to reduce the colour saturation on a lot of my shots! However are you referring to the reflections on the metalwork????

Nigel, nothing important. But I think the paint isn't in good condition. Perhaps they are the exhaust fumes, perhaps sea salt or perhaps a bad choice of paint ...however your camera is not responsible for this.

I think it just needed a good clean Marco! Trust me - the boat/paint looked 'mint'. (that's slang for great).

Thank you Marco: Always good to hear from you and Nigel and Phil again, and thanks for your concerns for my well being. Maybe I could find a sponsor and start the book/books.
By the way did you all see the picture of Stuteville that Seeroy posted regarding the OFF reunion, OMG it was posted on Offshore only and serious. Jack and I were/are very close friends, especially when we raced in Europe, we were fierce competitors to say the least, I have many stories about our racing episodes as well as non racing escapades. We were young and crazy, and raced the same, when you rode with us there was no position named second, didn`t want to hear about it, it was see ya at the next one, then we`ll see. TOUGH !!!!!! True Grit !!!!!!!
