Outrageous is alive and well.

A race is being planned for next summer, not Plymouth, but pretty close to that area....stay tuned and start working on a boat to enter.

Hmmm New Port, R.I. maybeeeee

Goat Island would be an Idea location for wet & Dry pits.

TB,
I remember sitting on our family beach in plymouth watching the races!! I used to ride around as a boy in the Peterbuilt that pulled Outrageous. Now i am the proud new owner of a 24Cig.
Do you recall the course in cape cod bay?

In 1975 (I think) - We raced our 36ft. Bertram (a Bertram Test boat that had a 1/8 inch thick plywood deck when I got it) - around Cape Cod - ONE WAY - from Buzzards bay to the mouth of the Canal - boat tore off the rear running strakes (they were to be moveable for testing) -and it almost sank - A great Venue - hospitable people - a fun time -

Photos - one in the middle of Cape Cod Bay - finding we were standing in sea water- (means the V of the boat was filling up with Sea water) we stopped to see how bad things were - needless to say - we got underway again ASAP - I was in no mood to beach the boat either !

Second Photo - is After passing the finish line to win our class, with the Coast Guard in hot pursuit - with lights and Sirens blaring - we stopped and they pumped us out - we could not stop for help before finishing or we would have been disqualified -

Great Memories !
