Not sure you will find much build info, but the English built cougars were all over built, hence performing so well. At cougar,.......Steve Curtis and Pete are the ones to talk too. Also if you can get ahold of Gary Stray ( supercat rigging ) and I believe he also signed on with gieco,..........anyways he used to work for cougar also. When you go to the cougar website go in the gallery and look at Dr. Bobs restored cougar with the turbo engines,.........there's a reason he bought old and made it new rather than buying new. Also I have a thread here on OSO with plenty of pictures of his boat. Thanks Jon |
Cougar "English"
Thank's Guys will keep you up to date on the future buy ! :evilb:.

We built in every medium, from plywood to honeycomb, pretty much custom. Very well built. No two raceboats the same.

If you can get an English made Cougar it'll be a fine boat. There Where some Copies made (in the same building in Miami) that fall short when Quality & Attention to details where concerened. The Quality of the Glass & Glass Work are Fine, but the quality of Hardware and rigging suffered Badly. I think Tony's "Head Rigger" made $8.00 an hour.

Dummy Question
How can I tell the differance between English & the copy cat's
|
Do you know the HIN # of the hull you want to buy? We can tell from that.

When the word overbuilt is brought up is that code for "very heavy"? I was told they are great rough water boats but take a lot of power to run fast as they are quite heavy. I also like the lines of the boat. Very good looking.

Damn, That looks like a good deal. Also, I don't think Tony Made any 33's, That must be a "Real" Cougar. Good Choice!
