Also were there any others set up for surface or shaft drives that are for sale??? Looking for aluminum boat with surface or shaft drives to put turbines in.

Call Lightning Jacks down in New Jersey. They have the old Popeyes Aluminum Cougar that has been shortened from its original 50 feet. Turbines were/are in it. I think it has surface drives, but not sure.

yeah they want some crazy $$$ for that boat i think.

I think that probably it is the former "Dirty Laundry"-4 engines version that Joe Mach drove in APBA Superboat in 1992-93. Unfortunately, the poor quality of the photos does not help in the identification of details.
The "Dirty Laundry" was exactly a 47 'CUV designed by Michael Peters and originally had two side by side cockpit with canopy but now I see brings a single cockpit.
CUV of that size were built a few and that was the first ever built and almost all others are in Italy today.

Probably you are right.
I have a picture of 2005 where it is still perfectly preserved in its original form, but then I do not know what happened to that boat in the last 5 years.
Honestly, I can not think of any other cat CUV of this size that can be in U.S. .

what about the cougar cat "endangered species" , a solid old race boat running for $85k on oso classifieds. seen it out alot last summer in detroit area.

i pass by the lightning jacks/popeye boat everyday, just sitting there for 3 or 4 years and it has sixes on it .

42' CUV "Rivited/Heavy Metal" saw it on one of the boards for sale. That was an awesome running boat back in the day.

It's currently listed here in the race boat section, with KE 1200's
