It was a smooth race..We made 400 miles and a transmission blew and so did one engine..We got to Current Cut and spent the night in Spanish Wells. The boat was a full race boat with a lot of history by then..

This Ford ad from back in the day [ around 1968] is what brought me to offshore racing. Sadly this red & white 28 is Brownies old race boat that's gone through many changes. Today it's been left in a field, gutted here in Michigan, really to far gone to restore.

The Original full size Pic of that ford ad was hanging in the hallway of our house when I was growing up. IDK where it ended up. Brownie may still have it.

There is still a few of the old ones around. Recycle to new for a lot less then a new boat even with re power.

Broad Jumper was saved this past summer. It’s safe and sound in NJ.
