Arasaki race boat info needed

Hello, has anybody seen the Arasaki race cat on ebay in Florida? its listed as a 1999 , i found some videos of the Arasaki race boats from 1994 and 1995 , both were open cockpit boats ,but they look like the same boat as the boat on Ebay except now its a closed cockpit boat, i just wonder if the boat was updated with the enclosed cockpit in 1999 .+ thats where the year that its listed as came from , i called the seller + emailed a few times but have not been able to get in touch with the owner yet .i really like the boat , it needs motors and drives and some rigging, + i think it would make a cool boat if i could register it . any info would help me out. Thank you .

CHEESE-
Do a search on here, I was asking about Arasaki some time ago. If I'm not mistaken there were two boats. I think I remember the open boat having been converted to some sort of commercial vessel and the other one is the one for sale on ebay. Cool boats.

The guy who owns the boat is a good friend of mine. His name is Ralph and his number is: 727-243-2219. He is very trustworthy.

Fobes... yes 2 Arasakis. Kurt Burger at Bandit had one for a long time.

Had one of them (canopy boat) stored at my shop for a few years. I think it was 04 until 08 or so. If I remember correctly there was a paperwork problem with it.

CHEESE 07-09-2011 11:41 AM

I received a email from the seller stating clean title , perhaps they got the paperwork straightened out .

stirling 07-09-2011 11:59 AM

When I was at the sellers place ,he had that Arasaki cat in his workshop ,it looks like that boat was made from several sections laminated together ,I could be wrong as I did not looked inside to see the laminate ,but on the outside there were visible seams from what I remember( could be in the mold ) the boat sounded like a concrete building though if you hammered on it with your fist.
I could not find any stress cracks or repairs ,it looked as a very solid boat to me .

stirling 07-09-2011 12:05 PM

To make this boat complete I have two Aluminium Bandit engines for sale ,these are 675 Ci naturally aspirated 1100 hp Keith Black Oldsmobile DRCE engines ,dry sump ,they were out of a Hydratech cat from Kurts marine.
I can,t post pics here,if you want them send me a pm .

if that boat is the one from florida it has some major delamination problems in the nose and tunnel make sure you personally inspect it before you spend money we gave the boat away to a salvage yard here in ft lauderdale and kept the trailer

.................................................. ............. its the boat that has a single fin behind the canopy , a large fin like a old unlimited hydro ,small airtakes in the motor hatches, black sport car seats are in there .Think its the same boat?

Baja555 07-10-2011 01:02 PM

thats a pretty narrow beam for a 46 ft cat..

skate 07-10-2011 02:48 PM

Wasn't it a red Arasaki boat that was envolved in the accident with Tom Genty and The Gentry Eagle at the Key West Worlds around 1995?

Almost 12 ft ( 3,50M) wide ,is that much less than a 46 Skater ?

offshore9 07-10-2011 06:03 PM

The Boat you are asking about is the last one hojo built , we went to key west with it back in the late 90's think it was 99 or 2000 ...it was all carbon from what i remember, and was told it wasnt going to hold up ,,,to rigid , just going by my memory. It made one race and half way thru the pickle forks just about broke off. The boat was no faster than the previous ones even though it was much lighter!.

Arasaki

I never remember it being a fast boat. Just different because of the owner/driver being from Japan and the round edges. If it won it most likely was because the others in the race broke down. Cadillac
