I have to admire you for taking this on and doing all this work fiberglassing a floor repair I know nothing about and there is nobody around here that does.
This is really interesting can you put up a little on the history was it raced etc? Sorry if I am dumb on this/

Great job your doing keep the blogs going this is cool as hell!:evilb:

Thanks for the support. The motivation is needed at times. As for the brand Shadow Cat (Image). It was raced very successfully from I believe the 80 until the early 90's. I do not know for sure but The Black Duck is one of the most recognized (and had the most wins) raced boat of this era.

The boat I'm working on was never raced so its just a plain jane recreational setup. The main reason I'm doing this is because for years I wanted a 30+ ft cat that had somewhat of a cabin and basically couldn't afford one. So this offer came back up and I couldn't let it go. I have a very little amount of money to work with (few bucks a week out of the paycheck) so this will unfortunately take a while. My goal is to have the structure of the boat back together and just lack the engines, interior and paint before I need the Fountain trailer back for it to sit on. That way I'll have the winter to rig and design the interior and paint. As much as the manual labor sucks, I'm still amped to see the finish product.

Enjoy

wow what a project...hats off to you!.....it just amazes me that someone would let something like that just sit there uncovered and rot....covering it with a $10 roll of 6mil plastic from Home D would have done wonders.

Never done anything like this at all. Figure I have to learn sometime.

Update #2

Rain never stopped so I got the boat in as far as I could into the garage. Probably a dumb idea because now everything is covered in blue but I was determined to finish the lower part of the one side today.

Here you are taking on this huge project and I have been draging my ass on the Chris Craft XK_-19. I got the engine done and the pump rebuilt and the hull needs repainted. If you had told me that you had been doing this for a 20 years I would of beleived you. And its hard to impress me but impress me you have done. Now how does it go back together the million dollar question.:lolhit:

Keep going its a great looking hull. Seeing it's all ready stripped put some bb power in it and some surface drives on it and it would be a real show stopper!

If I had the money I would put in some LS smallblocks on driveshafts. But I don't so I'm stuck with this for now. If I like having a cat I'll sell this and get something bigger and newer with I/O power.
