Classic '81 Formula 255 Liberator comes home!
I recently brought home an '81 Formula F-255LS old-school deep-v cuddy that I purchased from the second owner in northern IL that was reportedly originally purchased by a man who lived near or on Lake Geneva WI. She sports the original twin 260hp Mercruisers with Alphas and stainless props and rides on a very nicely restored '83 heavy duty tandem roller trailer (pulls great). She'll get her first taste of Great Lakes boating on Saturday with a run on Lake Michigan. Her previous time has been spent on smaller inland lakes, so she's probably itching to stretch her cramped legs a bit. I want to thank Sprink for sharing his experiences and opinions of his own 255 (which came from northern Michigan) which helped me to make the decision to go with this model. If any of you will be out and about between Holland and Grand Haven on Saturday, look for the Blue Streak and flag us down so we can chat a bit. |
