http://newyork.craigslist.org/fct/boa/2749975951.html I have a feeling that boat is going to go cheap......I love those motors but they are nighmares |
That is right in my town. I know George looked at that boat before he bought the other one (see the Shadow Cat Restoration thread he started). I think it is in way worse shape than it looks.

3 times bombs on back.
I know another guy besides prostock who has looked at it. He ran back to his truck! |
2 are mod-vp's, the other is a standard 200. One is seized and trailer is non existent.
Side shot I had on my phone http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l3...85/photo14.jpg |
Shadow Cat
.i'm pretty sure that was Bill Amidons boat called"Moly Black Gold" from New Hampshire,X- Raceboat.
|
8k boat + 3 motors ,
The parts on the motors are worth that. I have an awesomecat with 3 motors Set them low enough & they will run forever. If not you can buy a complete 2.5 block for under 4k Interesting :party-smiley-004: |

Interior is rough, but looks complete enough to make new covers.
2.4 not strong enough, but you could always sell them & buy 2.5 efi 200hp for a little more. They would fit on the mids. you have 3k in the lowers alone. Dont like the right side seating but still only 8k. If I did not already have one, I would be on this one. Heavy boats but were solid & great in rough water. Would run strong in the great lakes. Interesting buy & still does not look to bad. My 2 cents  |

Just the steering is close to what he's asking. |
I am sure someone will spend alot of money but for about 30K, it would be nice.
Not many with three motors. I just dont think they run well with the 2.4s, just not enough tork,hp. Change the 3 powerheads to 2.5 then it would run. 3l would be better but then you need to change mids, lowers wing plates etc, then price starts getting high. my 2cents Dont forget oil & fuel cost :lolhit: |

First time I have seen seating on the right? not crazy about that.
Are they horn motors? Would love to see them without covers? Must be heavy, wonder what she weighs? Still would make more money on selling parts. If I had space for more boats, I would probably buy it. Like I need another project :angry-smiley-038: 75mph, not bad but with the 2.4, gas must be ouch! Mine with the efi promax, run great & great on gas. Still would sell the 2.4 & get 2.5efi. Been running the 2.5 promax, x3 for about 5 years and never had trouble with them. Only issue, watch the water pressure,,, again, my 2cents:party-smiley-004: |
2 300s itd be a nice boat

carb motors ouch.
they look like 240hp motors, but looks clean. Are all 3 motors running? Looks like someone better buy it before i do! :angry-smiley-038: Are they all 20" mids set up on the transom? Any pics of the bilge area? Is the trailer strong enough to make a 500mile trip. May be time for a road trip. Sell the power heads & add 2.5efi. Anyone looking for 2.4 power heads? Would be faster and cheaper on gas. OK, need more pics of the inside cabin, bilge & interior transom, |

OK, need more pics of the inside cabin, bilge & interior transom, I think they are all 20" mids 30 pitch props no pics of the bilge Trailer wont move with no boat on it....rotted almost in half ans 2 axles are rotten/snapped at the ends. |
Someone will have to bring in an A frame- hoist boat up and pull trailer out. That thing has been sitting there for several years based on the wheels sunk in.
Good luck!!!! Wannabe |
30 pitch props
no way they are turning 30" props. Most I can turn is 28 6500rpm =85mph. 30"s would run around 100 mph. May sell for 5k, then that would be a deal. Cabin looks nice! Still would love to see the bilge area? |
48-19519 30
14.75 x 30 I think the center was 14.50 Maybe different ratio? If I had the cash I would buy it in a minute. Bolt the V8 300's on for now while I built the other boat. |
PROSTOCK85
Yes, we need an update on your work,,, I had a shadow cat that needed that much attention. Sold it bought another one, but great job! Did you ever get a chance to weigh it? I still dont think they will turn 30" But, I could be wrong. The 2.4s were just to small to turn the numbers, Im running 28 3 blades outside & 4 blade in the middle. I think mine weighs in about 7000 lbs. My next goal is 3 300xs motors for mine, this would put me around 100 mph. :evilb:. But I always have my stv for that :drink: I would love to hear the 2 8v start up. Awesome dude, would be awesome! |

Paint and hoses, etc.. If you need any other pictures or anything else I'll see what I have. Somewhere I know my g/f took a video wandering around the boat. Ill see if I can find it. |
makes me want to pull my boat off of my trailer and pick this one up
|
When these boats were first built by Rich and Able the would go near 100 in race trim with 2.4's. This one must be REALLY HEAVY to go only 75. The trailer is scrap, that makes it a real tough sell.

Did anyone notice the HIN number? If I remember correctly the shadow cats, and Shadow V's hull number began with IMG for Image boat company located in Lake Hopactcong, or was it KRG for Krononberg, which was Elbe's last name, I forget. I know that we have that info on our bill of sale somewhere, my brother Philip would remember. That was the only Linder Luhrs Shadow Cat operation, well other than Linder's origional Long Island Challenger operation. There After that came Conquest. After Shadow (Image boat co.} went out of business someone from Jersey leased a mold and made a few hulls and even a few 21 shadows, I would not doubt that others did the same. Even doing a splash to make a mold required mold making skill and the operations that made one of two hulls did not have that skill. That Dash shape is not a Shadow dash and the Shadow Cats never had a cabin opening like that. Maybe Rich will step in here and shed some light on what it is.

How much is that cat really worth? The trailer is junk and pricey to rebuild. 2 of the three motors are seized? The cockpit is junk... I know the lowers and steering are worth something but 8K seems kind of high. Am I way off base? Just curious, since it could be a fun project. I'll be the first to admit I've never run a cat or triple egg beaters

Geez you guys are freaking out about that trailer over nothing. Get it sandblasted for $150 and paint the thing and it'd look brand new.
