i dont think he ran it,,the bay is too choppy for that boat..

I've had it out a couple times but you have to be ready for the day you can go and not the other way around.
Like Fixx said, where I live is not a place for it. To many things can go wrong to fast but.....
For the couple hours I did have it out it seems fine stability wise. The basin where I would only dare to take around here is a couple miles wide by a couple miles long and it was funny on how soon I would run out of space. It is a totally different experience then anything I have ever drove before. I have always had Deep V or flat bottom boats. The way this boat is designed is to ride on the front sponsons. In other words, every boat i have driven wants to lift the bow. This boat lifts the stern which feel opposite of everything that feels normal to me. So it will take some getting used to. Then add in that even though the water looks calm there is still rollers to look out for all the time so it was a bit of a tense time. I really need a calm river or something miles long to get it all worked out as a driver.
Its also not a sports car or circle boat it was originally set up as a drag boat not to mention that cornering with this style boat is also new to me. When at speed it is already up on the front sponsons and then you turn it tends to want to push the outside sponson into the water (again very strange to me) so I really didn't push it to the limit on turning. More like get it lined up and floor it until I ran out of room.
As for speed. No GPS numbers but 55-60 would be a conservative number and there was more there but like I said I am totally new at this style of boating and this driver knows his limitations. This is also a boat that you don't want to find yourself in over you head in for many reasons.
A couple weeks on a nice river and there wouldn't much that would touch it and sure wouldn't look as good.

Love the look of your classic Biesemeyer. You just can't buy a new boat with that much style and presence anymore. It would be great to see some "on the water" pics when you get a chance, even ones at the dock.

Thanks again for the driving impressions! Things like this are rare, and almost forgotten in history, so it's neat to hear some first hand experience of what it's actually like, because I doubt I'll ever see one.

Just acquired a 1961(?) Biesemeyer 18' 4 Point Hydro. Any information you guys have would be appreciated. My Uncle purchased two hulls (to get a deal) and sold one in the early 60's. It was just left to me.
