Honor list

Lets start a list of all the great racers, living or past.

That includes the mechanics, throttlemen, navigators, ect. and anyone else who contributed to the sport such as owners and sponsors.(Wife's and girlfriends?)

We need to be able to understand their contributions to the sport. Younger people didn't live in the world they lived in and don't know them personally.

Many of the new people who start a thread don't realize the caliber of the people who respond to them. Me included and after three or four years I still don't!!

These people are the Richard Petty's and Dale Earnhart's of offshore racing and we don't realize it.
What they have to say is priceless!!!!

If there is someone you want to honor please put them on this list, and to completely honor them please tell why and what they did for the sport.

I want to know who these people are and maybe be able to look them up on this list and understand.

If your name appears on the list and you want to add to it, please do!!!!!!

If you want to put your name on the list, please do!!!!!

We want to know you and your friends, past and present!!!

Lets give these people the honor and respect they deserve.

If I posted anything that disrespected or irritated any of you I apologize, sorry!:drink:

If you post please include a story if you can, lets make this an awesome thread!!!!!!!

You can start with the "Brat Pack" with names like Dick Bertram, Bobby Rautbard, Elton Cary, Dave Stirrat, Jim Wynne, Peter Guerke, Walt Waters, John Gill, Allan Brown and their undisputed leader Don Aronow. Not to mention Odell Lewis. What was that boat he drove???

This is a great day (Memorial Day) to start this thread. This thread could escalate to one of the biggest threads in OSO history! Before this great thread gets started I would like to thank ALL the men and women who have served this country to protect us and our freedom, every time you jump in a boat and lay down those throttles and feel that wind in you face please take a split second of thought and thank our past, present and future soldiers that will be protecting our family and kids for generations to come! God Bless the US!

The greatest boatbuilder/designer/racer/(He doesn't always drink beer) is Rich Luhrs. I know this for a fact. He told me......

I'm going to start with Kurt Berger. My throttleman and mentor. He taught me how to race and win. He also taught me the hard word work that goes into preparing for not just a race, but for a season. Those late nights at the shop on Mantoloking Road were a blast.
