Totally Understandable, you're excused until the kid hits 3 yrs old.. then..he better just suck it up and hold on for dear life like the rest of us!..LOL. Keep us Posted, I'm anxious to know which of our setups is dialed in the best!

This may be a dumb question, but how do you anchor off the bow cleat in the P22? I ask because I was out a couple days ago, went to anchor and realized accessing the bow cleat is almost impossible. I had to climb over the windshield and crawl to the bow. So I tied the anchor line to the bow line, using the extra anchor line as a tether to the set up so I could retrieve it from the cockpit. BUT the anchor line kept getting hung up on the bow nav light. WTF!!!
There must be a better way! |
Jump in Feet First Brother! You're not afraid to get wet are ya??! :evilb:
Hey, Got the Sunpad on Today.. check out the Flickr Link! |
Honestly, I've got a Kitchen sized step stool that I use to climb over the windshield, it fits under the cuddy cushions and I'll probably keep it there. It's just a little Rubbermaid Jobby, but it's white and clean and works??

So I've got a 19 and a 23 pitch....give me some info on a 21 3 blade...... |
Run a 24 4 bl then... Better Holeshot, about the same Top end as a 3 bl 23 p. I'm fairly certain that's not too much prop.. Sounds like Brett at Bblades could give you a little better insight. 67 on the GPS is all the higher I think I wanna push my stock 454 mag with the 23 Ballistic on it. It's got a very aggressive cup to it though..so it's got good bite. You may be experiencing more prop slip than you think.. you should be able to figure the % of slip if you can narrow down your Numbers to 3 sets of variables and 3 sets of control Numbers. Do you have a digital Tach or you going off mechanical?

As for the 21.. you'll be lucky to see 60, solid holeshot though. I didn't notice much difference from the 21 to tthe23, but you're accustomed to the Holeshot of the 19.. that is probably a considerable difference. I've got a 17 that'll give ya Whiplash but the top end is a whopping 45!! If you want better holeshot without sacrificing Top End too much, try the 4 Bl 23 or 24.

In all seriousness.. your Motor has a lot of torque to trun a large prop, your Outdrive should be plenty strong to handle a workout like a 4 blade can dish out. Just practice your holeshot. If I stomp on the Gas in my Truck, I can spin the tires for a block, but at the end of the block I'm only going 35... if I jump on it until it starts to break loose..ease off just a bit, then tromp on it.. I'm doing 85. You may just need to get used to it for a bit..have some patience and if you get sick of starting and stopping..you can always just go Balls Out across the lake and try'n break 70!??!

Bow work, I am like a little spider monkey, jumping over the window and onto the bow, I have the same issue with the Nordic. You get quick about it :)
Prop- I would call up Brett at BBlades and get some info from him. A 24P will be a bit much for that setup. From all I have read, if you add a blade you should step down an inch. I am no expert though, but the guys at BBlades and others are. |
