87' P22 350Mag/Alpha Prop Help

I have an '87 P22 with the 350 Mag/Alpha and it has a 21p SS Cleaver prop on it that I'm unhappy with. This prop seems to lift the transom a bit at WOT which makes it "skate" across the water. There seems to be a fine point in the trim adjustment that this prop is happy being in. My dad has suggested going to a 24p. I know nothing about props other than they push water.

With 300 horse, I wouldn't go any higher than a 23. That Alpha Outdrive is more fragile than you think and something would eventually give. If you wanna run more horses or a bigger prop, I'd suggest a 1.5 Bravo. That Alpha is a time Bomb with any real Power in front of it.

Try a 19 ballistic or 21 ballistic.
There is no way that you have the spunk to move that boat right with a 350 and a 24p prop. I ran 475 hp through my Alpha with no problems for 5 years but it had changed to 1:36 gear ration so the strain was on the engine and not the drive. I ran a 19p ballistic for general use and the 21 for speed, they get loose at 68 and above.

I have a 21' scarab with a 350mag / alpha. The best prop I've found so far is a 21 Mirage.

I run a 21p Mirage on my 350 Pachanga. I don't see how you can run a 24p on and alpha/350 combo. only other prop I've tried was a 23p 5 blade which hopped on plane like a jet ski but didn't have much top end. I'd start with the Mirage and see what you think. I've been happy with mine.

I've tested countless props on my 86 22 Pachanga. The Laser II, 23p works the best if you typically run with a light load. If you are going to run with 3-4 people the 21p might be a better choice.

I used a 23p vengeance on mine and was very happy with the outcome. My engine was a bit more than a normal 350, but the prop was spot on, good plane time, good cruising speed and good top end. And less expensive that a lot of other props.

How will a 21p Mirage be different than a 21p Cleaver? How would the 21p Ballistic be different than either of those?

What characteristics would change going from a 21p to a 23p?

And we're usually out with another couple, so that's me, my wife, my 2 year old son and two other adults.

The 21 Mirage will be too much diameter for a small block 22 Pachanga. It will work much better with the much smaller diameter of the Laser II. I've got both, 21 & 23, if I'm around, you are welcome to try on Brandy Pond.
