Laying in bed on the last day of your life you will not be saying...."If only I did not spend so much on my boat"

on another note I feel that generally guys like us love these types of boats but don't have the money to buy a new one but we do posses varying degrees of talent to bring something back to life. Part of the fun is the restoration process and creating something that looks 10 times better than when you bought it. Unfortunately it takes money for parts and such but when you do a boat for yourself and not to flip for a profit, who really cares, it is for your enjoyment. No better or worse than spending money on a nice vacation that you will never get back. And like someone already mentioned the guy that gets HAMMERED is the guy that buys brand new. I'll stick to fixin' up my junk and be rewarded with that before and after effect.

I think the best way to go about buying a boat is to be patient and research a boat you like till a totally restored one comes on the market. Do research on the seller if you can look for QUALITY work and parts done to it and last but not least try to find someone who had an open checkbook when they re-did it and for some reason or another has (desperate) to sell right away. Then you buy the boat and don't forget to go to church every Sunday!

I see it as a fun and passionate hobby, how many other people feel that way about stuff other than their families.

Nope, never sorry.

Just spent a ton bringing my boat down South, on a new dock/lift and getting the boat salt water ready, never thought twice about it.
