Charlie is right. The 49' Cigarette/Cary is 1.5 times a 32' Cigarette/Cary. First one was built for Jordan Klein at Cigarette, with twin gas Chryslers. It was laid up at Cigarette. Enter Elton Cary (and me). We built #2 with Cummins Diesels and #3 as a bare hull, which I towed up to Cigarette, and Don rigged with 2000 gallons of Diesel and a pair of Cummins for someone in the import/export bidness. We then build about two dozen bare hulls with 8-71's, ready to run, no interior for Ted Theodoli, our Italian dealer. He finished them and sold them to Gianni Agnelli and a bunch of other rich Itralians. If yours is (or was) blue, with gas engines, it is #1. If it is grey, with Diesels, it is #2.

Even 1973 is a bit iffy.
I re-did a 1973 Monza a couple years ago from the ground up and never found a single number on it.

Doc Magoon/Mercury Marine set one up with a half dozen 'Black' V-6's across the transom. 1975--1976?

Brownie, tells us some stories about Jordan Klein. I remember when I was pit crewing for the purple Rayson Craft...Fish Peddler, that Schatzi was a pretty cool boat. Not to mention all the stuff he did underwater.
