SHOWTIME, Starting phase II...

After enjoying a year of SHOWTIME being on the water this winter I will start phase II. Most of the original wood behind the original upholstery needs replacing. So over the winter it will all be redone. I'm looking for some color schemes and ideas. It would be very helpful if ya'll would help me out and post up some pics of cockpit interiors. For those that didn't see my thread last year SHOWTIME is a 1982 Stinger, I re-powered her with a single BBC 454 roller motor w/stainless marine exhaust and rebuilt the cuddy. I scrapped everything that was in there and just made it a place to overnight and get out of the weather when needed. SHOWTIME has a red and white hull. Thanks in advance for any help...

I loved the last thread Gator, looking forward to this one. I don't have any 260 interior pictures, but my buddy has a Mach1 endevor 290 which is just a stretched 260. I think it'll be close if you want me to snap pictures.

InstaGator 12-17-2013 07:23 PM

Mac, That would be great. I'm trying to come up with color scheme that is more modern than the pastel colors of the 80's.

machloosy 12-18-2013 07:22 AM

Give me a few days since it's about 45mi away. I'll get them for ya

InstaGator 12-23-2013 08:49 AM

Well I took SHOWTIME out on the river Saturday and Sunday due to the 85* weather we are enjoying here in FLA. So needless to say I'm getting a little later start with Phase II. So I'm still looking for bolsters and color scheme ideas. I have a double bolster drop out front seat if anyone is interested in trading for a pair of them.

CC230 12-27-2013 02:43 PM

Hey Gator, glad to see phase II getting started. I'm pushing to be at the springs in May. I'll do some surfing and see if I can come up with some pics.

Hey CC I hope the holidays were good to you. My plans are to be at the Glenn for Memorial Day weekend too. Trying to come up with some color schemes for the upholstery. Next winter I plan on doing the painting. I would do the paint first but the upholstery won't hang for another season.

CC230 12-28-2013 07:44 AM

What color is the outside going to be? Are you staying with the red?

InstaGator 12-28-2013 03:23 PM

Probably going to stay red and white. I'm thinking red, white, black and grey for interior colors. The cuddy was done with those colors in Phase I.

CC230 12-29-2013 06:25 PM

I was going to say, red, white, grey and a silver of some sort.

InstaGator 12-30-2013 07:52 PM

Those are pretty much my colors. I've been looking at a lot of boats for designs and have many to chose from. Still haven't decided if I should stay with the double bolster drivers seat or switch to singles... So whats the status on your Scorpion, have you been working or finished it yet?

CC230 01-01-2014 07:47 AM

Happy New year! It's hopefully going to be the year of the Scorpion for us!!!

I have to build the engine, a few other parts are needed. Then do some minor work on the floor in the bilge, and re-paint. Debating on doing the interior, it only make sense to do it now. Been busy with other things but I need this boat in the water,,,It's killing me seeing it sit! I'm going to update my thread soon.
Your cabin door is on the port side not centered right? If it is, my thought would be to stay with the double bolster seat set up.

InstaGator 01-01-2014 04:37 PM

Happy New Year!!! Yes cuddy doors set off to the left of center not all the way to the left. I have seen some with singles and double seats. I think I'm going to keep what I have for now. Post up a pic of the Scorpion I want to check out the hull.

How does it perform with the single big block compared to the twin small blocks?
I have an '88 260 and thought about doing the same thing if I ever need to do any major engine work to it.
Are there any pictures of your boat on Hans site?

Hey instagator, I talked to you some a while back. I have an all red 89 baja 250 and I redid my interior last season, I went with red, black and grey, it turned out great. I'll send you some pics if you want to pm me you # or email. Or im just in Daytona if you want to ride over some time and check it out. We'll have to do a Glenn run some time when things warm up. We just did the toys for tots run in palatka a few weeks ago, that was a blast.

Bowtie I would love to see some pics of your Baja. I live in Orange City I went to the Glen this weekend (Sat). It was packed for January. I think it was about 80* Saturday. We definitely have to get together up there. I'm looking at being there for Memorial weekend for sure. Have to stay in touch and make it happen. I'll PM you my email to send some pics to.Also who did your upholstery? Also CC230 is in Kissimmee and has a 230 Scorpion. I'm trying get him out to the Glenn Memorial weekend as well.

InstaGator 01-12-2014 05:56 PM

Cajun, I lost a lot of weight and speed by converting from twin SBC to a single BBC. I am still working with props and timing trying to recover some speed. I'm only getting 46 mph @ 4200 rpm's.

InstaGator 01-13-2014 07:33 PM

Thanks, I'm getting a late start on the interior due to not storing her for the winter. Got to love our crazy weather...

CC230 01-15-2014 11:41 AM

Gator, I'm hoping to have the engine running on a stand by the middle of Feb at the latest. Then hopefully the interior goes as planned and on time.
Pushing hard for Memorial Day!

InstaGator 03-06-2014 11:21 AM

I finally got SHOWTIME in the upholstery shop today. They said she should be ready for the water by mid April, Went with white, red and black color scheme that should start with the engine cover and work its way into the cuddy. Keep your fingers crossed for me that it turns out nice. I took it to a shop 60 miles from my house so I won't see the daily progress on it.

Wet Bowtie 03-08-2014 07:16 AM

Hey Gator, did you ever get my email with the pics of my baja interior?

InstaGator 03-10-2014 05:49 PM

No I never did, Please send them to [email protected]. I'd like to see them.

Wet Bowtie 03-10-2014 10:40 PM

Just emailed pics. Its 3 different emails from [email protected]. let me know if you don't get them. My phone says they all went through.

Ryan
