You gonna keep the Tramp on the back of the boat?

pgolder 09-04-2014 04:47 PM

I haven't taking it off yet. I heard it was "bad Luck" to change the name. Most people get a laugh about it.

spazboz 09-04-2014 05:15 PM

I hear yah on the luck thing. When I bought my 1982 26 Nova, I pulled the teak floor over the fuel tank out and refinished it. When I pulled it out, my buddy next to me shouts out "Check it out free money!" There was a quarter and a penny with 1982 dates taped to the top of the tank. 26 cents from 1982 in my 1982 26 Nova, I left it right there. And to be honest with you, its been the best boat I've ever owned.

donzi matt 09-04-2014 06:31 PM

The boat looks great!

86Nova2 09-04-2014 07:43 PM

Looks great love the name!!

pgolder 09-07-2014 10:15 AM

Does anyone have a good start for a set of props?

donzi matt 09-07-2014 12:51 PM

Are you going to try and spin 6000 as your peak RPM? For a comparison, I am turning 23 pitch Mirage's to about 5300 with 500HP (estimated). I would think starting with 25 pitch Mirages and possibly labbing them to bring up RPM if you needed to. As another data point, with a clean bottom I am only getting about 8-10% slip.

northernoffshore 09-07-2014 01:05 PM

tommy harts old boat ... the name got to stay!!!

pgolder 09-07-2014 01:54 PM

I was turning 25 mirages out at 5200 with the old motors est 500hp

donzi matt 09-07-2014 02:08 PM

What were you getting for speed then?

pgolder 09-07-2014 02:30 PM

72 gps

TAStevens 09-27-2014 06:56 AM

That thing must be moving pretty well, touching 80? Must be pretty close.

pgolder 09-29-2014 02:49 PM

Yeah she was moving along quit well 90 gallons of gas 3 guys first run on Torch Lake "glass" 78 on gps. With a tone of throttle response. There is definitely nothing silent about my Silent Thunder with 4 4" exhaust hole in the bottom of it LOL http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5dde6929.jpg

TAStevens 09-29-2014 07:19 PM

I NEED to take and post pics!! Mine is SO CLOSE!! LOVE IT!!

TAStevens 10-02-2014 07:53 AM

Will those TRS's handle that RPM and HP??...I am SERIOUSLEY considering Konrads.....I see your just North of me? I run out of Holland.....got one blown TRS on my STOCK 420,s right now......who went through your TRS's??

pgolder 10-02-2014 08:50 PM

I've had the boat now for 7 yrs and haven't had and problems spinning them over 5000+rpm i just check them every year. "Preventative Maintenance" LOL This boat has all ways had 500+HP its whole life might of hurt 1 drive sense 1986. Torch Lake Marine went through the drive this last fall. after 300 hours gears still looked great I had them shimmed and new bearings. This is the most power this boat has seem with the new Dart motors at 622hp a side. i got about $2500 into both drives.

Fastninja434 02-13-2015 07:15 AM

that's a really nice boat because I seen you in it last year up there in Traverse City. I was searching for both and wish I could have bought that one last year congratulations man looks nice the new motors.

No, its resides in Central, IL... a friend bought it and has new power in it.

Knot 4 Me 07-23-2018 12:09 PM

Believe I've seen it on Clinton Lake once or twice and talked to the new owner once.
