Just doing body work miles and miles of boat to sand and prep. The sides are all prepped for the final prime and the deck is ready for its first primer coat. Can't get picks till we pull the tarps.

looks real nice but a question I have u sanded then primed and then put gel over the primer on the deck what kind of primer do u use that u can gel over I thought the gel goes on over the sanded glass so it adheres to the glass better and how much sanding and buffering has to be done after the gel is cured need to redo my swim platform with gel after some repairs are glassed in rather then paint it hows the smoking joe project doin

We use a polyester primer then we sand with heavy grit sand paper. To finish the gelcote we start with 400 grit and finish with 1500 and polish.

that sure is labor intensive on a whole boat glad I will only have a small area transom and swim platform
|
You guys need a ZAMBONE to paint that deck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
