I know what you mean.
I had a 13' 2" Pride Capella with a blue band 402 (40 hp) and we used that for skiing. Took a while to get out of the water on a single ski. It was due to that boat, I learned to do a 'jump start' in the shallows with my back foot out of the binding.

yes i remember that way to start,after moved to bare foot never put a ski on anymore.haha with did not do that with the 40hp !
