Cool project and a great place to get some quality work done cheap. RR |
will go to phuket,i need a trailer and bravo 1 outdrives if you know anything !
|
Sorry, I'm in Pattaya Beach, 600 miles from Phuket. Can't help you greatly from here but I'll be watching for a build thread!! Looks great, I'm sure you'll be very happy with the Thai standard of work and attention to detail. Just make it it very clear what you want done and keep an eye on the whole process.
Good luck. RR |
IMO, you are ruining that boat with Bravo drives, find , at least, some 3a's for it.......
|
there is a picture of it as Rums of Puerto Rico on this page , email PBoden19 @ hotmail.com (no spaces) he has more if you would like to buy some.

CONCLUSION This classic and historic offshore race boat is in surprisingly original condition with relatively little structurally wrong. However she does need a full restoration. The starboard aft hull bottom needs repair of an old damage. The #4 bulkhead needs some repair, the cracked side decks need repair. The vessel needs overall refinishing and of course engines and systems need to be redone. |
Doesn't sound like it needs much. That s Good.
May I ask what nationality you are ? American here. |

May I ask what nationality you are ? American here. the boat is in nice condition, the deck cracked during a race and there is a soft spot at starboard engine side, bulkhead is easy to repair, but in the u.s. it would still have cost a lot here the minimum monthly salary is about 250$ and very skilled workers,i found to 454 blocks, outdrives will be the biggest problem. |

hi,i was born in holland, lived in miami and now in phuket thailand were i like it a lot because of the freedom that you have, not to many rules,as long as you behave you can do what you want .
I am 4 generations later from being a Hollander.. Best of Luck with your new project. I asked RakRau who is woking onhis project in Pattaya what the cost of resin and fiberglass cloth was over in Thialand but he did not have that info. Would you happen to know what a liter of resin cost or a metre of biaxial cloth costs. From what I see from Rak Rau posts the labor is very skilled and reasonably priced. |
hey jef, new screen name , to match the boat?
