Looking at dates from last year, what weekend will be the old school reunion? Then there's usually a race the weekend following.
Food for thought. H20boater would be able to help out better than I. |

I will be leaving for Florida on Tuesday of next week, hope to make definite arrangements for dockage and lunch at one place once I get down there.
The suggestions so far have been: 1.) Shooters in Fort Lauderdale 2.) Miami Marina and Joe's Stone Crab in Miami 3.) Haulover Inlet for launching and some of the restaurants near the parking lot. 4.) Duffy's short idle north of Haulover. Ride would be out Haulover Inlet to the ocean, then south to Government Cut and then in and back for lunch on the Intracostal. So far Sarasota has more suggestions for the West Coast than Clearwater. Any more suggestions, let's hear them. Saturday Januray 30th for the East Coast Saturday March 19th for the West Coast. |

The suggestions so far have been: 1.) Shooters in Fort Lauderdale Unless you go out Haulover and run North Shooters in really far, really far. 2.) Miami Marina and Joe's Stone Crab in Miami You would have to take a car or bus from a marina to go to Joe's and don'y forget your wallet. You mentioned to me reasonable food, this is not the place. 3.) Haulover Inlet for launching and some of the restaurants near the parking lot. Why go boating if you are going to go to the restaurants near the parking lot. There is no place to dock boats while at lunch either. Launch there is OK but it's dirty. Really changed there. 4.) Duffy's short idle north of Haulover. Duffy's id the old Shooters. Good docks for sure. Good suggestion. I vote for Shuckers on the Bay. (ask Brownie!) There is a Hotel there and the docks are new and lots of them. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restauran...e_Florida.html Ride would be out Haulover Inlet to the ocean, then south to Government Cut and then in and back for lunch on the Intracostal. OKAY....let's hear it from the people who actually are coming to the first THUNDERBOAT RALLY in south Florida.
Suggestions are above for restaurants. Depending on how many people commit to coming will determine the final spot we pick. The leader at this point seems to be Duffys' . Launching and parking at the Haulover Inlet. Where we ride to will be determined by the number and size of the boats that show up. WEST COAST IN MARCH Looks like Sarasota will be the location, next decision will be the restaurant with docks. Also waiting to hear about the date that may conflict with the Lake Dora event around the same time...anyone know for sure on Dora's date? |
The Michigan people have an iron date. There's no planning around other events from what I was told. Pick a date and let everyone else sort it out. Seems to be the only way to get it done. Too much wishy washy him haw stuff going on.
