Ok I know I posting a lot but just wanting all the info possible. My boat was red and black originally and at one point was owned by tempest38. I have read thru all his post and 1 person said they went and looked at it and it was an 82 but it is a 1985 and titled from wellcraft. Also in the post from Don Able he states Bill Farmmer made 30-40 hawk and wellcraft only made 3 is that correct? I believe mine to be kevlar and airex top deck. no notch also.

Interesting info. Cool to see you back with the boat and making plans for the future. Do you plan on redoing the interior or going with a minimal interior?

Michael Alberts From Myco Trailer had a Black & Red 40 Hawk but his was a 1982 or 1983 Bill Farmer Hawk. I think Wellcraft made more than 3 40 Hawks, in Detroit we had 2 40s and over the years seen few in New York and Florida that Wellcraft built. But Don Able was the man at Farmer's and then at Wellcraft so his numbers should be very accurate. My old 40 just came up for sale in Lakes Of The Ozarks been sitting in a building for years in a estate situation. Looks pretty good but fiberglass top & bottom, also no notched transom. Boat would cruise at 60 @ 4,000 RPM with Big Motors. Good Luck with yours.

Motivation....?
Houses are boring, everyone lives in a house. Come on man, get over it. Just outside your door is a cool old school boat which can bring fun to the family and friends. Now get out there and preserve a small piece of offshore performance boat history.

You've been through so much the last few years but it's up to you. Do you wanna live your life sitting around the lounge room, watching a big screen tv? Wouldn't it be more fun to see your little boy's smiling face when he says "Daddy, can we go out on the 40' Excalibur tomorrow?" Do it for Granger!!

All in fun of course but I hope it helps.....

You just have to realize it’s not going to happen overnight and just plug away on it. Try to get at least a little done every day or two.

Default Small steps

I'm in Kansas and a its 17° currently but I did a few things towards working on the hawk I got 3 new tires on the trailer and got a new jack. The jack that was on the trailer was old and neglected like most are... it was a 2000lb tube style so I replaced it with a 8000lb square weld on type with a drop foot and side crank. It is so much easier to deal with now. I am thinking of adding some type of ladder/steps on the front of the trailer to get onto the bow any thoughts or pics of anything similar? I have steel and diamond plate scraps laying around.
