A Cougar Vin number would start with CMO

The last US built Cougar hull built on 188st was in 1985

So where would I find info on the production since it is a CMO

I have all the production records and the boat in the picture is not a Cougar, also a cougar vin would be moulded into the hull- someone is telling you a few porkies about the vessels history

The numbers are molded into the hull and I pulled report on the numbers says cougar marine December 1989 2940-50 n188th st

Cougar sold the 188st yard I'm 1985/6 from that point all production was back in England - the guy who scammed the yard after we left did ilegaly copy our US1 46 and made versions from 40 to 50 feet, call Boss, the boat you have is not even a copy of a Cougar - the shape is very different

So I guess I have a ghost as I have no way to verify what it really is jus what the coast guard data base says it is

Cougar Custom Boats had a 30 that looked similar hull wise but I've never heard of a CC version.

It seems correct that this is an AJ Roberts built Boss as he ocupied the yard when we moved back to the UK, over the years We have had a number of people who thought they had Cougars but this is the first time a boat has a cougar vin designation

Cougar sold 2940 n 188st in 1985 to Dick Fullham and AJ Roberts, Dick was killed racing in key west later that year and then things went very bad, AJ copied our US1 46 and caused us many problems for a number of years
