I'm sorry, but the is no way a 23' ft boat is running in TRUE 4-6' seas.

Sure, I've done the run several times in my 21ft contender. Legitimate head high seas. It's not fast, nor is it dry, nor comfortable... But it's safe and it get's me there at an average of 20mph.

I'm hoping a 302 can get me there much faster, dryer and more comfortably. Sure sounds like a 233 can, but how bout a 302?

Back in the early 80's I went for a ride in a 302 equipped with twin 425hp Kaama setup on Lake Winni in NH. One of my most memorable boat rides ever. Solid 80 mph, and stable.

Having owned the first Interceptor and then the first 302SE, I have to agree that pound for pound and proportionally by length, that 233 was probably one of the best monster wave crushers ever made. Obviously, the 302 handled bigger water better as a result of the span, but the improvement wasn't as big as we were expecting. Obviously, right off the bat we were running 10 mph faster with the stock 330's and in the low 70's later when the ~400's were installed. Unfortunately, running a 233 in hindsight with a single 260 was like running a Corvette with a 4 cylinder, so we never really got a sense of it's true potential. Both were great boats back in the day.
