Spirit of the Amazon
for those looking for old race boats it looks like "Spirit of the Amazon" is now for sale. she is here in Gainesville, Georgia and has been kept inside and looks like the day she was raced. she still has the turbo motors in it that were rebuilt and only have a few hours on them. other than having A/C added she is exactly as raced. any one interested can PM me for more info.

More pictures!

let me dig thru things as I thought I had a couple more pics of the engines and drives but not sure where they are. she still has the original twin turbo engines that it raced with and is as clean as it looks. as you can see she is backed in and it is kind of tight to take pics.

That Cougar looks real nice too!

Wow! Years ago someone posted pictures of the cougar on a car forum just after it had been restored and I spotted Spirit of the Amazon in the background, whoever it was was nice enough to post some more pictures of it. I always liked how it it said Eike's Toy on the dash. Thank you for taking the time to post the pictures years ago if that was you. |
that could have been me. I rigged the orange 46' Cougar v bottom that sits next to Amazon.

whats an interesting read is whats happened to Eike Bautista now.
|
It's amazing how quickly he went from billions of dollars to broke and a jail cell
|
Eike is in jail, or maybe even deceased by now. His fortune was literally financed by Petrobras (Brazil’s national petroleum consortium), and that in itself was illegal, as Petrobras is a Public company. Petrobras heads, stole money by diverting it into investments, the returns were basically “laundered money”
Eike wasn’t a violent criminal, he just made his fortune with illegal funds, and got busted, thus losing it ALL Petrobras was busted financing political candidates (a no-no under Brazilian Laws), a detailed investigation into its books brought to light all the illegal funds diversion, amongst them, Eike’s companies…..and thus he became a casualty |
