1974 Team Cigarette Open with a Yanmar 300 hp
1974 Cigarette Racing Team 28 Center Console powered by a Yanmar 300 HP diesel. Since 1979 it was used, by the second owner for twenty years the CEO of Useppa Island, Florida, to run back and forth from the mainland. In 2004 a total resto was done and the Yanmar diesel was fitted. Found her for sale now, by the 4th owner, on Facebook marketplace, in CT, for sale asking $19,850. Looks even better now than when it sold last time. Quite a find if it checks out. |

The fellow that bought it in Florida made it really nice and used it for the 2023 season. He now sold it because he owns several really nice classic boats and yachts, among them a dark blue hull Magnum 35.

Oh I see well that's cool. So he was the Facebook post you were talking about then. I wonder where the boat went now? It's a really cool boat setup. I bet that yanmar is pretty efficient too. I have been trying to track it down since I saw it being sold in Florida.

https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...00dc9159a.jpeg About July an old beat up pick up truck arrived at our front door in GR Michigan and the driver needed a check from my mom for the $9,000 balance due on the boat. My mom did all the bookkeeping for my dads residential development business and was not happy cutting that check for another boat as my dad had just bought a custom built S&S sailboat the year before. Anyways my dad dragged the boat out to Spring Lake that night so my brothers could take it for a ride and as my dad was dragging the trailer back https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...b3bef3dcd.jpeg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...86b6b70a2.jpeg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...6912402a6.jpeg he pulled around the parking lot at the Holiday inn where we kept our sailboat . The trailer had a far wider swing than our old 23 slickcraft trailer my dad was used to pulling and he clipped old man Gezon of Gezon motors brand new Cadillac Eldorado. After the boys were done with the boat my dad decided to take a ride down the channel bringing 2 couples with us and my 7 yo azz to drive. Well we got in the channel and it got a little rocky and this one wife puked red wine all over the brand new white seats. Needless to say there was always a faint stain on them from that night. |
Tommy, I really dig the look of the Monza 26. Your father made a wise decision. The boat you saw was a twin to the one I posted. This one spent its whole life in Lake Tahoe
until the current seller bought it in 2007, brought it to N.Y. and had the partial resto done. This photo is from when this one arrived from Tahoe. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...3e7ce59bb.jpeg |
