1981 Excalibur center console hull?
Hello all purchased a 1981Excalibur from a widow in fl it was her husbands boat but it has been sitting for over 20 years. Trying to get a bit more information about them I remember all the speed boats but any information on the center consoles would be appreciated.

hahaha not that young but shii paid 500 thetrailer could sell for couple thousand alone and already done a few boats so only a weeks work if all material is present so that’s small things |
I'm confused, looks like it had a triple egg beater set up but then a single through hall exhaust. Must have been one of Willy's Smuggling rides. :cool-smiley-027:

I saw your PM. What is the Hull ID? I see a couple hints of Excalibur but not in the deck. It looks like it has notched transom and a pad.

More info on hull
So I was told by the widows brother that her husband got it brand new custom made in 81 from Excalibur he told them what he wanted based on his commercial fishing in Bahamas. I’m not sure if it’s a one of one but it’s a strong hull for sure.

Awesome project. Could be very nice and worth doing, especially with the popularity of centers these days...
|
so, the floor was already out? or you took it out ?
BIG project for sure ! !!! |
Boat
Pad and notch like a Velocity

looks like one heck of a project!!!! definitely keep the progress pics coming. only pics i could find on google is a 32' Excalibur. I know my 78 24' Excalibur has the old logo with the sword. Now would be the time to enclose the transom and go with a bracket set up for sure!!!

Updated pressure wash pics
So got it pressure washed Needs some sanding and prep on outside for primer and inside will begin cutting transom i really like my motors direct on my transom will be coosa and thick
i was thinking a bracket to have a nice platform to get up from diving but i will look at it when i get back and make decison in Bahamas for a few weeks. |

.more than likely a hay hauler with the triple outboards, not a fish boat. rigged numerous triple versions back then in southeast florida. that is the same exalibur centerconsole that chris craft started selling in about 1979-1980 under the excalibur, then scorpion chris craft name. chris craft tooled up a nicer console for it, which a man named gene rapolo came up with, at their bradenton florida plant.

the large flat pad and center stringers look like the time fountain and farmer where working together, the pad was all fountain. I owned and raced the org Spanish fly with triples, same bottom , what a handful ! good luck with your journey

Started some work decided on plans
Cut out rear seats and also cut the cap and removed to access transom. Just getting around to it so I should have weekly updates going forward hopefully.

I also started cutting out those rear knees that tie transom to the bulk head so I could remove the rest of transom but my tools died. I should have that grinded back to raw glass by tomorrow. And then probably a good pressure wash.
But I will make some templates of the knees before removal and then I can focus on the bulkhead and the transom templates then I’ll go and get some coosa and Mat and I’m using vinyl ester resin. Was going to use epoxy but i prefer the lay of the vinyl ester. But I will be using epoxy glue to lay transom on hull and clamped and chucked throughly. |
More breakdown transom just about out
