Key West offshore & Sand Key lighthouse
 

Hey guys,

I’ve been watching a lot of the old 80s offshore racing videos lately and noticed that in key west, they appeared to be running out to the sand key light house and turning back. In more modern videos they don’t run nearly that far out from the island before turning back. Any reason for this?
All the modern stuff in key west feels a little silly, like it’s barely offshore racing. More like near shore in the bay racing.
