No inline fuel filters on stringers install on my boat. Might be an auto parts special, likely easiest to remove and take with you to a store and find replacements. pretty sure the OEM ones are fuel filters with a built in fuel water separator.

I finally ran a set of 24's yesterday. Holeshot was not that much better and top end was 57 at 5000 rpm with full fuel and 6 people on board.

Just dropped in my 500 EFIs yesterday. Did top ends, all new shift-throttle and tab-drive cables. New steering wheel, new throttle/shifter set. New transom assembly's, New Bimini top.
All new XRs last yr. and a few other things this winter. Should be good to Go for a few yrs now.:ernaehrung004:

Ran the 343 yesterday in about a 1' chop and finally paid attention to the RPM at WOT. With no tabs and drives up to the point where speed was lost then back down a hair to 3.5 on the indicators the RPM was pegged at 4800. Speed was 62MPH full of fuel and 2 people on board.

A lab'd set of 24 Bravo 1's ran 57 MPH @ 5000 RPM with similar fuel and 6 people.

I know the 496 MAG HO can run to 5000. Does it make sense to send my 26 pitch Bravo 1's out for some lab work to get the extra 200 RPM? If I did can I expect 2-3 MPH more? Should I just leave it alone?

Just going down 2 pitch cost 5 MPH but what I don't know is if there's some magic that can be done to the 26's to gain RPM and a bit more speed or if I'm just dreaming.

Just enjoy your beautiful boat and stop thinking about 2mph. How will that change anything related to the day on the water with your family? Your boat looks stunning. I can't imagine dicking around with labbing props for 200 rpm. Even after doing that, you may only gain 1mph. So I ask, what's the point? I understand the quest for more top end. Have a great summer man. I'm jealous of your Cobalt. That speed top is incredible too.

I had a Bimini made this winter. I keep forgetting to get some pics. Couple small bugs with everything we did this winter, but she runs well.

As for your Top Speed needs- Man leave it alone. These Pigs will Never be speed demons. They are fat Pigs and like Queen said- Fat Bottom Girls- Make the world go Round. Just Not Fast :lolhit:. Enjoy your ride and get a Hot Rod for some Speed Fixes.

Thanks for the input guys. Agreed, these will never be speed demons and because of the weight and hull design it rides really well in the rough.

The photo in post #294 above was taken in Tampa Bay at the FPC Poker Run in April 2024. That shot was in 2-3 windblown chop. Wind was 20 MPH from the northeast and we had to run from the convention center to Egmont Key. We were running about 30 MPH just enough to stay on plane with tabs at about 4-5. The ride was not miserable but it was bumpy. It was the worst after we got past the I-275 bridge.

On a side note I recently learned that many of the other (much newer and bigger) boats on that poker run skipped the Egmont key stop and went to the second stop in St. Petersburg. We were literally the smallest and second oldest boat at the run and yet stuck it out. We ran a total of 120 miles that weekend and none of it was smooth but the boat did very well. The only casualty was a subwoofer shook out 2 of it's 4 bolts. Everything factory installed stayed in place.
