There is a 1989 22' Condurre in my area I'm thinking of taking a look see. I know Cobalt builds a good boat but was did not know if they made a performance boat.

Nice boats.. I have some clients with them.. they are built very well, just heavy.. That said they hold their own very well considering how much they weigh.. Well worth the coin that they charge for them because they do sseem to hold up quite well.. :) Jamie / lakeside

Hello Fast 269

Hey just wanted to say hello. Never did anything on that 300. Talked with a guy today that had looked at that and it was like expected way too much money to mess with since much of it was going to have to be gone through.

Still have your boat.

i have an 86 22'cobalt condurre nice boat and fairly fast it will run 68mph with a stock 454 and alpha drive looking to sell if anyone is interested

areyouliving 02-09-2010 10:52 AM

A friend of mine has a 269, he's been trying to sell it cheap. Nice boat I like it a lot. Thought about selling my scarab and buying it. Lots of attention to detail. twin small blocks and alphas. Heavy boat, seems like BB's would be real nice in it. He dropped a pair of high hp strokers in it last year that were sitting in his shop, I don't how fast we were going cause I was too busy hangin on, but it seemed fast. Lets see some pics.

FB what kind of speeds are you seeing with that setup? HP on the BB? Would you have done it again?

fastboat269 02-25-2010 07:21 PM

Hi living... Did you buy the boat???? I have had the boat 68 but it could be faster.
I would be interested to see what kind of speeds out of stroker SBC's. Still need to go bravo's and hyd steering and that just adds LBS.

areyouliving 03-03-2010 12:44 PM

i haven't bought it. Still trying to decide what to do with my Scarab. I really like the way that boat feels when your seated in the drivers seat, It feels like its meant to be driven.

fastboat269 03-13-2010 08:25 PM

It should have drop down bolsters... Standing up while driving feels very cool.... specially when the BBlocks are synched...... I know where a 300 condurre is.... needs everything though...

Ive had this boat since brand new in '90. It is gorgeous, 21 years old, and the gel coat is INCREDIBLE. Never had any problems. Its got a 454 mag with bravo 1. Just bought CMI e-top headers, and bone stock, goes about 66mph. Looking to get about 75 out of it for now. There is nothing like the quality of this boat. It is absolutely incredible.

johnfharding 07-20-2010 08:46 PM

Trying to buy a 269 currently!

I will post pics if I get the deal put together. My wife thinks I'm nuts but I wanted something that we could go on LOTO on the weekends and not get beat up too bad. I know the 300 would be better for rough but, I don't want to feed to big blocks. etc. more later.

Are you looking at the 269 Condurre that's for sale at a LOTO broker? If so, it looks clean and a good price too. Good Luck!

johnfharding 07-24-2010 12:24 AM

Actually no

I'm looking at one at the Cobalt dealer. I like both of them but my wife liked the one at the other dealer. So I am just a few days away from getting it. The other Condurre is a nice boat as well. I looked at it ,, the outside anyway and it has had the alpha's replaced with SE106 drives and is currently needing a gimbal bearing and U-Joints on one drive. Its in pretty darn good shape and they seem willing to take care of everything mechanically for the new buyer. I would have probably went for it but my wife liked the other one better.

Holy Smokes 07-25-2010 10:47 PM

Glad to hear it. Didn't realize that Village had one too. Post some photos when you get a chance.

johnfharding 07-27-2010 11:52 AM

Picking up the boat tomorrow if all goes well

keeping my fingers crossed that everything checks out at the service department and the sea trial goes well.

johnfharding 07-29-2010 10:00 PM

269 Condurre Is now in my Cobalt family

Took it out last night it did great. Post pic's as soon as I get done waxing up the outside.

Just a little more info on the Condurre 269 and 300,
they both used the hull from the Carrera 30 by Humbertor Picon,
the 300 was pretty much exactly the same as the Carrera SS9M
using the same hull and deck except much more plush inside espcially the cabin, the 269 is the same hull as the Carrera SS8M which itself is a shortened 30ft Carrera
but Cobalt used the raised deck of the 30ft instead of the flat deck Carrera used for the shorter version , the 269/SS8M hull is the 30ft hull with a 3 ft plug in the mold .

I have the SS8M
http://damncarrera.com/SS8Msig.JPG
same boat as the 269 but with a flat deck which as the title states is actually 26.9 which is were Condurre got the name for thier version . According to Carrera the hull is actually a 25deg V not 26 . The hull still lives on in the current day Carrera sportfishing center console 27 and 30ft models.
Almost all 27 Carreras like the 269s were built with twin small blocks only a handful were single big blocks. I have one of those, with a mild 509" making around 500hp and a Bravo drive it runs a best so far of 69.4
According to Carrera with twin souped up Tempest 350 small blocks they had a 27 running just over 80mph. Hairy ride though..
Anyways just thought I would give you a bit more info on your boat.

Thanks for the info

I'm going to check out that site you attached. Sounds like your boat runs real good. I got the boat because I wanted the best rough water ride I could get in a 27 foot boat. I hope it handles the LOTO trash decently. Its a heavy beee och the cummins diesel works a bit with it in tow. Looking to get a hold of Fastboat 269 as he has one too.

Its interesting that the hull is still being used. That says something right there.

I have an 86

269. Had mine since Feb 2008. Great boat.

Stock set up with twin 350's and Alpha One's. Changed out one lower so I had counter-rotating props - no need to even touch the wheel to keep going straight since.

Use it mostly in the Potomac but take it out in the Chesapeake about 40% of the time. Super stable, dry, comfortable boat.

The fastest I have gone is 63 (gps speed) and it still had a little left in it.

Only complaint - no cup holders topside. I mean, c'mon. Really?

So with twin small blocks and alphas, what will this boat do for top speed?

johnfharding 09-12-2010 10:27 PM

Stock speed

I have seen GPS 55 and that was with 4 adults 1 child and heavey load of fuel. I have seen 63 on the speedo. I would say the boat was going around 58 - 60 gps. I'm running 21p cleavers. Thinking about changing for next year maybe going to Mirages/ Rev 4's / or Enertias' just depends.. Then again I may just pick up something used on Ebay or something.

cdail28590 11-26-2010 01:12 PM

You guys with the 223's are you seeing your speeds with a GPS or on the speedo? I have a buddy that has a 223 with a healthy BB and Bravo and the best he has seen is 59 mph. He has tried Hydromotive, Mirage, and a Vengence prop. What type of prop and pitch are you guys running? He is planning on building a 496 but everyone tells him the hull isn't made to go very fast. He is currently running a Gen V 454 with 8.75-1 comp with some old Sonny Leanord aluminum heads a comp cams flat tappet cam. He doesn't turn it over 5,000 rpm.

looseconnection 11-29-2010 05:27 PM

cdail28590

My 223 does an honest 58 to 59 full load of fuel and 3 people on gps.

Light I have seen 62 and only once. 23" mirage plus.

copy and paste.

cdail28590 12-02-2010 10:33 AM

Thanks Loose connection thats about what his does. I don't think this hull will run 65-70 without alot of HP. I told him about this thread and he said the best its ever done with low fuel, going with the current, and a tail wind was 62.

Seaspanker 09-10-2013 08:04 PM

What pitch props and what kind are you running on the condurre 269

Just picked up an 87 269 condurre on ebay. Twin roller 350's, was told around 300hp per side. First run I managed to turn 25p mirages 4800rpm. No gps speed yet. Need to do some drive and steering repairs before I get it back out. Great riding boat.
