Congrats on your new Cobalt! they really build a beautiful sweet ride! You got a great choice for big blue Pacific water and the Cobalt will keep you safe and dry! I am always impressed with their build quality, gelcoat finish, and general fit and finish Great Choice . Just a little fuel for the fire here! We have a couple of customer Cobalts who added the captains call to the stock exhaust on 496's and saw a slight performance increase which I think is a result of the bigger motors cubic inches not breathing well enough at full throttle with stock exhaust.
If you have through the prop exhaust now and not Cobalt's side or corner exhaust you will see some good improvement, but the 9'6" beam is tough to overcome. When your ready for a bigger bump contact us about the Raylar kits for the 496's Nice story here we have a customer in Florida who has a 2002 - 34' Sea Ray Sundancer with originally 496 Mag's and Bravo 3 outdrives. Boat ran 46-47 mph flat out an its a big heavy boat with bottom paint. Customer installed two Raylar 103 kits on the 496's and the Dana header manifold exhausts with Captains call- now the boat is GPS at 59mph! This got SeaRay so shook, they sent a MarineMAX dealer down to verify! Yep, it does 59MPH and it weighs about 17,000 lbs wet! Never think Never! Best Regards, Ray @ Raylar |

Awesome purchase!!!! Rick S. at cobalt will probably be the one lake testing it. They lake test each twin and have a write up sheet on each boat. Prop,RPM, ect...
He has an A frame on the back of the tow truck that holds just about every dia. and pitch SS props. I drooled when I saw that.... You didnt buy Speed you bought QUALITY... IMO Best of both worlds |

In the may issue of Boating World they test the Cobalt 303. Shouldnt this run very similar to the 302? Boating world only shows a top speed of 53.6 mph which doesnt sound right to me (with 496s). Nice looking boats though!
