Nice looking boat. Those Cobalts are well built. What does the interior look like?

p.s looks like you found a good throttle man. I showed my wife those pics to help convince her our little one will be able to handle being on the boat

Throttle Man

He loves it. We first took him on the boat when he was about 8 weeks old, he is now just a bit over a year and when we got ready to leave that day I was revving up the motors and he was laughing and loving the sound of twin smallies. Then a 35 Fountain Classic with 502's rolled up and he watched everything that boat did. He even goes swimming with us. we just hold him so he doesn't go under water etc. but he loves it.. We just be sure he is always always in his life jacket. We are having another baby in a couple weeks and I hope to have him out at the OSS race in late september we will see how that goes.

P.S. I will get some pics of the interior tonight.

Currently it is not for sale but , if you want to make an offer just send me a Private message and my wife and I will discuss. I have a considerable amount invested so just keep that in mind. Also the trailer not sure if you need it. Also have mirage propellers coming from BBLADES Thursday. Thanks for the interest.

I have a very good friend who owned 2. Still has one. Small blocks, Alphas. It runs in the high, high 50's & may touch 60.
I also have another friend who is a test pilot for Cobalt. He bought one of the 2 boats I'm referring to. Pulled the small blocks & alphas, put in 502 MAG MPI's & Bravos. Boat runs 70 if not a few more MPH, but it has the same porpoise everyone talks about.
In my opinion the 269 would be a good candidate for big HP LS (mostly aluminum) small blocks and Bravos.
The boats are so a$$ heavy already so they could stand to loose a bunch of weight out back. I think that would help to alleviate the porpoise issue.
Cool boats! Can't go wrong with a Cobalt.

Did you repaint the flat section under the windshield. The black on my 223 Condurre is starting to fade. Catches alot of heat in the summer.

Porpoising

My boat porpoises bad at the high end. pushing the mid 50's to high 50's. My brother and I were just talking today about the porpoise problem and I really didn't think about the transom weight being the problem.

I will tell you that my engine hatch was rotting out and I weighed just it, and it came in at over 100 pounds. My ultimate upgrade would be aluminum heads, intake and exhaust manifolds, mini starters, and at some point a rebuilt rear seat that is made lighter than the current one,, the thing has to be weighing 150 pounds or more because I had to remove it last fall and it was everything I could do to move it.

I had an aluminum hatch made and shaved a good 50 pounds off the back of the boat.

I have to remove the engines in the next week or so, and I am contemplating changing out the above parts. I just don't know if it would be worth it to do so. I figure I can drop in the neighborhood of 300 pounds if I were to do it. But if its not going to net me better hole shot, fuel mileage, handling and top end then maybe its not worth it. The motors run very good and I sure don't want and durability issues.
