96 28 CC How fast how heavy

Got some Mid 90's Concept Center Console Questions

1996 28CC. 1996 Merc Twin 200 25" (Lazer) EFI stock motors on a SS Marine type bracket Newer Sea Star Hydro steering. Stock gearcases.

NADA says this boats weighs 3600lbs dry, rigged with motors.

With the correct setup, engine height, good props, and no gear, will this boat run 65?.

With a pair of older 300 Pro Max or Newer 250 Etec's or 250 Opti's will this thing run 75 and still be driveable

I Would probably take off the factory tower to get the boat into the lift and to save weight.

Looks like a good straight V with strakes in the right place.

Any input appreciated.

I hace owned two Concepts over the years, my first one being a 96 28' with 225's... it was years ago I cant remember what props I was spinning.. The boat had a bad porpoise problem, I have heard they have moved the gas tanks forward to correct but I have a friend with a 2001 with 200's and it is the same way....
As far as speed with the 225's it was around 63-65 on top end...

The 28' back then is now the new 30' ?

Yes the 28 back then is now the new improved step hull 30' The stepped hull actually fixed the problem of the boat porpoising problem and also gave the boat better handling and speed.
